Warrior is one of the Final Fantasy XIV jobs that allow players to be tanks. Adventurers that want to play as a warrior should choose marauder as starting class. The Marauder’s Guild is located in the main city of Limsa Lominsa in the Upper Decks section. After players pick the starting marauder quest from the Guild they will level to 30 by completing quests, activities, and dungeons. The marauder will fulfill a tanking role in dungeons. Marauders don’t make the best tanks but leveling to 30 doesn’t take too long so this is not such an issue. Tanks always have shorter queues for dungeons so marauders will quickly find a group. When players hit 30 and have completed the Sylph Management quest they can take the warrior specialization quest to change their starting class into a job. There are two NPCs that take care of a warrior’s training. Curious George is found in Easter LaNoscea and the other one, the Broken Mountain, is found in Upper LaNoscea.
Players will notice that their tanking is considerably improved after they evolve into warriors. The job has all the weapon skills and abilities obtained as a marauder and also some of its own. Weapon skills are attacks that deal damage and increase enmity (threat). The warrior also has a few abilities that mitigate damage and boost HP and attack. At max level, the warrior is just as good as a tank as any other Final Fantasy XIV tanking job. The weapon of choice for a warrior is a great ax. At level 50, warriors get the quest that allows them to obtain the first stage of their Bravura relic weapon. Being a tanking role, the warrior will favor the vitality stat. The HP attribute depends on vitality. If players happen to be in a dilemma regarding pieces of armor they should go for the one that has the most vitality.
