Final Fantasy XIV: Patch 5.5 Death Unto Dawn Has Arrived

Final Fantasy XIV has made one step closer towards the expansion that will be released in Fall 2021. Patch 5.5 Death Unto Dawn is a major content update that prepares the game for Endwalker. New quests and more have been added.

Final Fantasy XIV Death Unto Dawn Content Updates

The main Shadowbringers story continues with new main scenario quests. We have six new main scenarios to complete. Players need to be max level and have completed all the other main scenarios. These new story quests make the transition towards the Endwalker story. New side story quests have also been added. These are a great way to get XP when leveling a new class. The third part of the cross-over raid YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse is included in Patch 5.5 as well. To gain entrance to it, players will need to complete the new Chronicles of a New Era quests. If you have the quest To Be Second Best in your log before Patch 5.5, you need to abandon and retake it as it was updated. More end-game content has been added. Players can now tackle the Paglth’an dungeon. The Cloud Deck and its extreme variant are now available under the Trials list. The Whorleater (Unreal) is now in the Dungeon Finder. New Game+ now has three more chapters: Eden, The Sorrow of Werlyt, and Tales from the Shadows. The Manderville Gold Saucer gets some additions. Triple Triad now has more cards. Doman Mahjong has been updated. The prizes from past editions of the Make it Rain Campaign can now be acquired with MGP.

Patch 5.5 Adds More Crafting and Decoration Items

Players can craft more items in the company workshop. If you are into underwater exploration, you will be glad to know that more areas and more items that can be gathered from these areas are now available. The submersible rank cap has been upped to 90. Players can now decorate their homes with new items, including the ones from the Furnishing Design Contest. New decorations call for a new sound as well. More orchestrion rolls are now available. The fish selection for the aquarium grows larger with more items. Don’t forget to look for the new Moth Orchid Seeds from material supplier vendors. Patch 5.5 targets some of the classes. Several jobs, including the Blue Mage, have received updates. Last, but certainly not least, your character can receive a new look thanks to more hairstyle options.
